Lupone is a composer and sound designer, trained in piano and electronic music. Author of electro-acoustic compositions for a range of contexts, his work spans dance, theatre, multimedia installation, video art and experimental music and seeks to interject the exploration of the possibilities between acoustic techniques and arrangements with electronics treatments, natural sounds and manipulations.
Performance venues, residencies and events encompass Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte-Montepulciano, Festival Internazionale “Mediartech”, Teatro Regio Torino, Techne-Milano, Città del Teatro-Cascina, Lowe Theatre New York, and Espacio Cultural “L.Borges”-Buenos Aires.
Over the years, Lupone’s research interests have focused on the diffusion of contemporary technological music, with collaborations including work with international artists and institutions (New York University, Computer Art Lab CNUCE/CNR, Xear/ZoneGemma, Pentalogos, Ecole Supérieure d’Art de Toulon (France), XLab Digital Factory).
Creating and delivering a range of educational activities, Lupone has also developed innovative core curriculum work for the Liceo Musicale Multimediale and the Istituto Superiore Musicale “Boccherini” in Lucca. As well as teaching and lecturing, at this time he is Sound Design professor at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Carrara.
He also drives an old Alfa Romeo Spider, very slowly.
